Chances are you’ve been frustrated when you try to print purple using your laser printer. You are not alone.
When we print purple on the printing presses in the WSU Print Shop, we use an ink called Pantone Violet. This is the official WSU purple. Pantone Purple is not an option for monitors or laser printers.
You can try to get closer by calibrating your monitor and printer colors. It is sort of complicated, but worth the effort if you want to see and get the best colors.
Depending on your project, another option is to have us pre-print your logo or other purple symbols on sheets that you can run through the laser printer as you need them. If you want to explore this option, call 507.457.5025 and ask to speak to Pat or Kristi.
